Import data in bulk

The Data Import feature facilitates the upload of large datasets related to company activities. To ensure accurate import, it provides templates and allows to resolve any issues in uploaded data during the import process. Following the data upload, the system begins calculations for the entire dataset.

Data Import Attributes

Below is a detailed description of each attribute of a data import record.

Attribute Name

Description

ID

A unique identifier for each data import record, which is created automatically.

Status

The current stage of the data import process:

  • Uploading: The file is currently being uploaded.

  • Ready for mapping: The file upload is complete and ready for column mapping.

  • Validating: The system is currently validating the file's data according to the provided column mappings.

  • Ready for review: The import has been processed but contains errors that need to be reviewed.

  • Submitted: The data import process has been completed:

    • For each record, a data entry is created.

    • Each data entry triggers calculations.

  • Failed: The import process has failed due to errors or issues in the data file.

File Name

The name of the uploaded file.

File Size

The size of the uploaded file.

Import type

Indicates the type of uploaded category of emission source.

Created at

The username of the individual who uploaded the file.

Started at

The date on which the data import has been started.

Finished at

The date on which the data import has been submitted.

πŸ’‘ To ensure correct emissions calculations, please only upload files with data from the year 2017 onwards.

Manage Data Import table

  • Edit: Click on the desired row to resume the data import process for data imports that have not been submitted.

  • Delete: Remove data imports that are no longer needed or were mistakenly uploaded. All data entries and calculations created from this import would be also deleted.

  • Browse: Navigate through the list of data imports, using pagination controls if needed.

  • Columns: Customize the view by selecting which columns to display.

  • Filters: Apply filters to sort data imports by status, created user or any other column

How to add a new data import

To import data, download a template, fill it with your data, and upload it. If the system detects any issues with the uploaded file, correct them directly in the app. After you submit the data upload, the system begins calculations for the entire dataset.
