Fuels and heating data guide

Updated over 7 months ago

This emission source refers to the energy used for heating buildings, water, and other facilities. Additionally, the fuels used in company-owned vehicles or equipment fall into this category. Businesses with large physical infrastructures, such as manufacturing units, corporate offices, or companies with fleets of vehicles (e.g., logistics, transportation) often have significant emissions from heating and fuel

Fuels

Where to find the data?

Facility Energy Use: Check your energy bills to understand the amount and type of fuel consumed. If you're getting bulk deliveries of fuels, such as oil or coal, the accompanying delivery notes will detail the quantity supplied. Energy meters or monitoring systems at your facility can also provide accurate usage data.

An example of your gas bill could look like this:

Company Vehicles: If your company owns vehicles, the fuel consumption data can often be found in fleet management records, fuel purchase receipts, or vehicle logbooks. Some modern vehicles or fleet management software may also offer digital reports detailing fuel efficiency and total consumption.
