Explore emission results

Updated over a month ago

The emission results can be found in the 'Analyse' section of the app. The section consists of the dashboard and the emissions calculations, giving a detailed summary and breakdown of your company's emissions profile based on all submitted data entries.

Emissions results dashboard

The dashboard provides an overview of your emissions. It can be filtered for the scope 2 method that you want to apply (market-based or location-based), and for a timeframe of choice. As a default, the dashboard will use the market-based method and include all data you provided without a timeframe filter.

  • Total Emissions: This figure provides the total calculated emissions for your company

  • Emissions by Scope: The donut chart shows how your total emissions are divided by scopes:

    • Scope 1: Direct emissions from sources owned or controlled by your company.

    • Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the energy your company buys.

    • Scope 3: Other indirect emissions from your company's value chain.

  • Scope 3 emissions by category: This bar chart shows your emissions per scope 3 category.

  • Emissions by emission source: This bar chart shows your emissions by emission source.

  • Emissions by location: This bar chart shows your emissions by location.

Emissions calculations table

The emissions calculation table shows detailed information on all emissions calculations that are generated by submitted data entries.

Each data entry generates one or several calculations.

For instance, with each fuel data entry, two kinds of emissions are calculated: one for emissions from burning the fuel and another for emissions from extracting and transporting the fuel.

Below is a detailed description of each attribute of a data entry.

Attribute name

Description

Start/End Date

Time period when the emissions occurred. Taken from data entry that generated emissions.

Location name

Location where emissions occurred or the location to which these emissions are related. Taken from data entry that generated emissions.

Emission source

Origin of the emissions. Taken from data entry that generated emissions.

Consumption value

Data about how much the particular emission source was used. Taken from data entry that generated emissions.

Consumption unit

Unit used to measure the consumption value. Taken from data entry that generated emissions.

CO2e emissions

Emissions generated by a data entry in carbon dioxide equivalents.

CO2e emissions unit

Unit used to measure the emissions

CO2e calculation method

Protocol used to calculate CO2e

Emission factor name

Identifier of the emissions conversion factor.

Emission factor value

Numerical value for converting activity data to CO2e

Emission factor unit

Unit related to the emission factor

Emission factor source

Origin or reference of the emission factor

Emission factor dataset

Exact dataset of the source that emission factor comes from

Emission factor year

Year the emission factor is relevant to

Emission factor region

Region where the emission factor is applicable

Emission factor LCA activity

Scope of operations included in the emission factor

Scope

Scope of the emission factor.

Scope 2 method

Method for calculation Scope 2 emissions, applicable only to scope 2 emissions.

Scope 3 category

Category for Scope 3 emissions activities, applicable only to scope 3 emissions.

This is what the emissions calculations table looks like in the app. In the top right corner you can see the emissions calculations management tools, discussed below.

How to explore emissions calculations

Use the following features of the emission calculation table to explore the results:

  • Export: Download emission calculations for analysis or reporting.

  • Columns: Customize your table view. Choose which columns to display for a simpler or more detailed table.

  • Filters: Find specific entries based on status, location, emission source, and other attributes.

  • Pagination: Navigate between pages to browse all data entries.
